Summary
In partnership with Illuminart, Undercurrents was a narrative-based 3D-mapped projection onto the iconic facade of Queenstown's Empire Hotel. The project presented a contemporary, interactive and high profile artistic outcome into the town centre, transforming and recontextualising a shared public space to a large local and visiting audience.
A major youth focus of Undercurrents was its interactive nature. Local youth controlled the projection by the use of an Xbox Kinect motion sensor to deconstruct and reanimate the visual and sound components of the work.
Undercurrents was supported by Festivals Australia.
