Postponement
The Unconformity 2020 festival has been postponed to 15-17 October 2021. The decision to postpone was the culmination of a thorough review process in collaboration with the Tasmanian Government and was due to the following reasons:
— COVID-19's impact upon the festival's development timeline
— uncertainty for audiences to travel and gather in October 2020
— health and safety risks for our community
— potential for adverse financial impact
— uncertainty for artists and staff to deliver the program.
The combined impacts of COVID-19 meant that the 2020 festival had to be postponed to the new dates of 15-17 October 2021.
The timing of the previously-scheduled 2022 festival will be reviewed in the near future.
Accommodation and bookings
To support local businesses, we want to encourage all people who had previously booked accommodation to simply rebook for the new dates, and for others to get theirs soon. For all of your travel needs visit the West Coast Tasmania website.
Additional Activity
We're committed to working with our artists, our community and our cultural partners to find stable ground and discover unimagined new opportunities within this uncertain terrain.
We've been working upon an additional program of cultural activity in response to COVID-19, headlined by UNTV which was live-streamed online and screened in Queenstown on 17 October 2020.
