Introduction to DJing and CDJs Workshop: 4 - 6pm
Ages 16-22; Registration and Permission Form required for under-18
This workshop is by registration only. All participants are invited to stay for our Open Deck session from 6-8 pm.
The introduction to DJing and CDJs is a workshop for young people aged 16 to 22 in Queenstown.
Led by Music Tasmania’s K Verell, the workshop will provide an overview of how CDJs work, beat matching songs, and the role of the mixer in transitioning between tracks.
No experience is required, just he desire to have some fun. All you need to bring is a pair of wired headphones (sorry, Bluetooth headphones don’t work with DJ equipment) and your ears. Some sets of headphones will be available for use if you can’t bring your own. K will provide all the music for the day, offering a mix of genres, club bangers, and other dance oddities to inspire and challenge you.
We will teach the basics of mixing tracks and using DJ setups. There will be multiple setups, so you’ll have plenty of chances to play and learn.
If you are 18 years or under, we require a permission form signed by a parent or guardian. Please download and fill out the Parent/Guardian permission form and bring with you on the day, or email it to: info@musictasmania.org. Printed forms will also be available on the day and from The Unconformity office Wed-Fri.
Parents and guardians are welcome to attend.
