Iris Blazely
I am a painter, printmaker and writer living on the West Coast of Lutruwita/Tasmania. My art concerns Tasmanian ecology, particularly the margins where disparate species, never meant to meet, coincide. From these in-between spaces of humans, the “natural world”, and invasive species, where colonialism has morphed what once was, arise dream-like narratives. I implement collage and surrealist themes- flora and fauna are transplanted and transformed, humans interact with animal ghosts and landscape itself is a spectre.
I became obsessive over Lutruwita/Tasmania’s native plants and animals when I was bed bound with Long COVID. I observed the New Holland Honeyeaters outside my window, playing and suckling at the wattle outside.
As an artist who experiences the world through a chronically ill lens, this opportunity is very meaningful for me. Art has always been a balm, but this collaboration with The Unconformity allows me to fully commit to a large scale exhibition and artistic development.

Nancy Mauro-Flude
Nancy Mauro‑Flude is an artistic researcher working across poetic computing arts and contemporary performance, with expertise in design anthropology. As the mother of a teenage daughter, coming from a maternal line of Spiritist practitioners in southern Lutruwita/Tasmania, she is committed to the role of artists in regional and remote contexts.
Her initiatives often take the form of experiential workshops, fieldwork as ‘citizen science fiction’, and conversation circles that contribute to translocal conversations on resilience. Nancy’s art practice explores how digital obsolescence and inequalities shape our capacity for reciprocal relations, devising cooperative, codesigned artworks and live, site-based transmissions.
A core member of Permacomputing.net, she repurposes electronic waste, builds low‑power network systems, and develops bespoke toolsets that support information exchange beyond corporate platforms; she was recently appointed to the executive of the Community Networks and Infrastructure Special Interest Group by the Internet Society Foundation. Nancy lectures in regenerative art and design at RMIT, and is the founder of a Holistic Computing Refuge (home brewed since 2009).

Stevie Battese
Stevie Battese, born & based by kanamaluka, works a digital canvas creating abstract pieces that hold their theme around ideas of faces & how we recognise, identify & form an opinion on what we are looking at. Exploring themes of disguise & disillusion, visions driven by all things human.
For the last 5 years Stevie has been running his own photo & video business ’Stevie’s Camerawork’. While on the side, dedicating time to darker creations. A pattern of work cut from the root of trauma.
Testing boundaries of self, soul & satisfaction, Stevie’s work will continue at The Unconformity 2027 in a full body experience. A deep dive into the psyche, unraveling what was lost.
