Dylan Sheridan

Dylan Sheridan is composer and artist based in Hobart. He began his formal studies at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music and completed his Master's degree at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, USA. Also a visual artist, Dylan is interested in expanding the theatrical nature of concert music through the use of image, lighting, musical sculpture and unconventional use of space. His work are presented in increasingly unconventional settings – from concert halls to living rooms, art galleries, gunpowder magazines, car washes and online – in the U.S.A, Europe and Australia, and at events such as MusicX (Switzerland), Dark MOFO, MONA FOMA, Next Wave Festival, and Festival of Live Art. In 2014 he was nominated for a Green Room award for his sound theatre work Terminal.

In 2015 Dylan undertook a two month Asialink residency at the Kyoto Arts Center, and an Arts Tasmania residency at the Mole Creek Caves, where he developed a work for planetarium. Through mentorships Dylan has worked with companies such as Chamber Made Opera, IHOS, and Aphids, and is a member of the Artistic Directorate for The Unconformity in Queenstown, Tasmania.

The Unconformity acknowledges the palawa people as the original and traditional custodians of lutruwita/Tasmania. We commit to working respectfully to honour their ongoing cultural and spiritual connections to this land.
