The Little Sisters

The Little Sisters are a Melbourne-based musical trio who wear their parlour-perfect, rockabilly-styled country roots with pride. The Sisters’ sound is a heady, stripped-back, harmony-driven acoustic country/blues brew. Taking inspiration from the all-female vocal harmonies of acts like the Andrews sisters as well as their deep love of all things country, the trio creates performances that are cheeky, entertaining, and warm. They've got their tongue firmly-in-cheek and their hearts on their polka dot sleeves.

The band in the main consists of Julie Connolly (voice/guitar), Teresa Dixon (voice/guitar/banjo) and Lucy Rash (voice/violin/guitar). Most frequently compared to the much loved Melbourne country act GIT, their tunes also stand alongside contemporary alt-country bands such as Be Good Tanyas. Coming from diverse musical backgrounds is part of what makes these sisters-in-song so special. When it comes to making music together, The Sisters’ experiences, instruments and voices converge – like islands in a stream, you might say. Live, the gigs mean brimming pints, flying petticoats and plenty of attitude – an enticing mix.
