Alethea Coombe

Violinist Alethea Coombe has performed with internationally acclaimed ensembles ELISION, eighth blackbird and Ensemble Interface, and has performed at soundSCAPE (Italy), Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival (Finland), the International Summer Course for New Music at Darmstadt (Germany) and the Australian Festival of Chamber Music (Townsville).

A diverse musician, Alethea has played with Canberra Symphony Orchestra and the Musician Project, and has performed at MONA, The Unconformity, Dark Mofo, the Festival of Voices, the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, Creative Island – UNDISCIPLINED, Visual Bulk, the Academy Gallery Inveresk, and the Sepulchre. Recently, Alethea has and continues to organise concerts at the Moonah Arts Centre, and has featured as soloist with the Melbourne Metropolitan Sinfonietta premiering Michael Mathieson-Sandars’ violin concerto, Jongleur Histories, which was written for her.

Alethea is collaborating with Lucy Bleach on Variation 3 for Variations on an Energetic Field at the PCYC, and will be performing at scheduled times throughout the festival—see program for details.
